Experts: Third of Russian firms work on own IT solutions
MOSCOW, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- A half of Russian companies have switched to alternative national products after the withdrawal of Western producers of equipment and software and a third bet on own developments, according to a research by agency TelecomDaily and mobile operator MTS seen by PRIME on Tuesday.
The study showed that “46% of the respondents answered that they switched to alternative products from the Russian Federation, 36% moved infrastructure to a Russian cloud, 35% relied on own development, and 32% allocated an additional budget for information security.”
Among software products that will be replaced with Russian or alternative ones, the respondents most often picked corporate communications – mail, videoconferencing, and electronic document flow programs.
National software is preferred by 71–85% of the respondents.
The research involved more than 600 large and medium-sized businesses headquartered in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
